The ASCM Awards of Excellence for corporations and individuals recognize superior performance and dedication to advancing the field of supply chain management. The categories are:

The ASCM Award of Excellence — Corporate Transformation recognizes an organizational transformation that elevates the business as a result of a supply chain assessment leveraging ASCM global standards, products, services and resources; the APICS body of knowledge; or the Supply Chain Operations Reference (SCOR) model.

Please read all questions carefully and answer as completely as possible:
  1. What were the challenges to be solved with this transformation, and what were its specific goals and objectives?
  2. How did ASCM global standards, products, services and resources; the APICS body of knowledge; or the Supply Chain Operations Reference (SCOR) model play a role in this transformation? (Summarize key discoveries, deliverables and outputs for each of the five phases of a supply chain assessment: engagement with the organization; definition of supply chains and project scope; analysis of performance, processes, practices and people; prioritization of the program portfolio; and launch of the successful project.)
  3. What are the key results of the transformation?
During their review of your submission, judges will consider the following questions:
  1. Initiative: Did the organization pioneer a transformation using ASCM global standards, products, services and resources; the APICS body of knowledge; and/or the Supply Chain Operations Reference (SCOR) model to drive more effective product offerings, engage employees, enhance collaboration, better meet customer demand, help mitigate risk and advance overall supply chain performance?
  2. Solution: Has the method led to fundamental, meaningful organizational transformation? Do the strategies and tactics used include a large cross-section of the organization in order to proliferate progress?
  3. Results and sustainability: Does the organization operate more efficiently and profitably? Has the initiative positively affected employees? Is there a plan in place to ensure the transformation is sustainable?

The ASCM Award of Excellence — Learning and Development recognizes an organization’s commitment to productivity and advancement based on the effective and ongoing application of educational concepts, competencies and best practices from ASCM performance-driven team training and the APICS body of knowledge.

Please read all questions carefully and answer as completely as possible:
  1. What challenge(s) did your organization face, and what were the objectives of using ASCM standards, products, services and resources and/or APICS educational concepts, competencies and best practices to address them?
  2. How does your organization apply and support ASCM standards, products, services and resources and APICS education (for example, sponsoring in-house seminars or chapter dues, offering time off to study or take APICS certification exams, etc.)?
  3. How have ASCM standards, products, services and resources and APICS education increased your organization’s success? Please include at least three specific examples.
During their review of your submission, judges will consider the following questions:
  1. Initiative: How effectively did the organization apply educational concepts, competencies and best practices from ASCM standards, products, services and resources and the APICS body of knowledge to the initiative?

The ASCM Award of Excellence — Making an Impact recognizes an initiative that creates a better world through supply chain as a result of pioneering corporate social responsibility, proven business integrity and an unwavering focus on sustainability.

Please read all questions carefully and answer as completely as possible:
  1. In what ways does the organization promote corporate social responsibility in the supply chain (through ensuring ethnical labor practices, reducing environmental impact, etc.) and limit the impacts of decisions and activities that negatively affect society and the environment?
  2. How does the organization go beyond what may be required by regulators or environmental and worker protection groups in order to shape and sustain strong social and environmental policies?
  3. How has the organization accelerated and advanced the supply chain field through efforts and initiatives that positively affect people, planet and profit?
During their review of your submission, judges will consider the following questions:
  1. Initiative: Does this organization exhibit superior commitment to developing policies that integrate responsible practices into daily business operations and consistently report on progress made and challenges faced?
  2. Integrity: Does this organization promote honesty, transparency and ethical behavior among employees, teams and partners?
  3. Influence: Has this organization ensured that corporate social responsibility initiatives are integrated throughout its supply chain and are practiced consistently in business relationships?

Sponsored by the ASCM Young Professional Committee, the ASCM Award of Excellence — Emerging Supply Chain Leader honors a visionary young professional who already has made significant contributions to the supply chain profession and demonstrates strong potential to become an outstanding leader in the field. Nominees must be no older than 35 years of age, or have no more than 8 years of professional experience, as of May 31, 2019.

Please read all questions carefully and answer as completely as possible:
  1. What are your or your nominee’s noteworthy achievements in, and contributions to, the global supply chain industry?
  2. What key qualities, characteristics and skills do you or your nominee display that are representative of a future supply chain leader?
  3. How are you or your nominee striving to become an exemplary supply chain leader in the future? Please include examples related to ASCM affiliation.
During their review of your submission, judges will consider the following questions:
  1. Achievements: Has this individual realized achievements of significant merit that advance business processes, partnerships, and employee and customer satisfaction?
  2. Leadership: Does this individual demonstrate the ability to motivate, inspire and engage others?
  3. Potential: Has this individual shared clear examples of success that demonstrate the promise and potential he or she holds to make a meaningful, noteworthy and enduring impact on the supply chain industry? Does he or she clearly stand out from peers?

The ASCM Award of Excellence — Supply Chain Leader honors an executive who exhibits extraordinary team and organizational leadership; provides dedicated coaching, mentoring and support of fellow professionals; and makes lasting contributions to advancing the field of supply chain.

Please read all questions carefully and answer as completely as possible:
  1. How do you or your nominee exhibit extraordinary organizational and team leadership?
  2. In what ways do you or your nominee encourage and foster fellow professionals in the industry (through coaching, mentoring or other methods of support)?
  3. What specific, lasting contributions have you or your nominee made that are advancing the organization(s) with which you work and the supply chain industry?
During their review of your submission, judges will consider the following questions:
  1. Leadership: Does this individual communicate a clear vision and focus for his or her teams? Are teamwork and collaboration developed and encouraged? Does he or she exhibit integrity, listen to team members thoughtfully, acknowledge contributions and respect dissenting opinions?
  2. Encouragement: Does this individual motivate, inspire, and engage subordinates and peers? Does he or she set people up for success and maximize their strengths?
  3. Influence: Has this individual achieved aggressive goals and been recognized at his or her organization for these achievements? Has he or she made a meaningful, noteworthy and enduring impact on the supply chain industry?
